The Story Behind This is the CC

Hi, I’m Christen, but most people call me CC.

This Is The CC began as something deeply personal - a return to safety in my own body during a time when I was recovering from a traumatic brain injury in 2021. At that time, I was learning how to slow down enough to actually hear to my own wisdom. Breath became one of the ways back to myself. Not as a technique to master, but as a gentle path towards regulation, trust, and presence.

These experiences eventually led me to step away from my work in environmental science and pursue formal training in trauma-informed breathwork. began as personal healing became a way of working with others. I now create spaces for people who are tired of pushing through, performing, or trying to fix themselves, and are instead curious about what happens when they soften enough to listen inward.

The Way I Work

This work is rooted in breath, nervous system awareness, and somatic presence, but it is not something that is done to you. It is something you are invited into at your own pace.

I hold space for slowing down, noticing sensation, and reconnecting with the parts of yourself that often get overridden in daily life. There is nothing to force here. Nothing to achieve. Just space to deepen your relationship with yourself.

How This Space is Evolving

This Is The CC is evolving beyond breathwork into something more experiential.

Alongside private sessions, I am currently developing immersive sensory experiences and ASMR-based offerings designed to support regulation, rest, and deep sensory calming. These experiences are inspired by the kind of ASMR that feels like gentle presence and relational safety. They are experiences that help the body settle without effort.

When combined with breath, these sensory layers create a deeper somatic experience of safety, grounding, and ease.

What I believe

I don’t believe healing is about becoming someone new.

I believe it’s about creating enough safety to meet the parts of ourselves that were never fully welcomed, and allowing them to be fully expressed.

In that process, something naturally begins to soften. Not because we force it, but because we finally stop abandoning ourselves.

Words from Others...

"I was invited to come to a group session by a friend, with the intention to address healing in some way. It was powerful! Christen is an excellent instructor and a beautiful soul.

We forget sometimes to breathe I noticed. When life becomes tense, some of us don’t breathe through the struggle as much as we should. We have a right to breathe, it’s what keeps us alive literally lol. During the session I felt so much emotional baggage open up and release from me.

So much I was carrying internally. I definitely cleanse cried, but wow it was beautiful tears. I felt lighter, at peace. After the session, all who attended spoke about their experiences and it is just beautiful how diverse this experience can be for every individual. I absolutely have been wanting to come back. Thank you so much Christen!"
